Reasons why she is just a Mistress

We are living in a society where married/committed men having a mistress is a norm. For some, having a woman without a side chick is like eating a main dish without dessert. Many women relate to being the mistress but will not confess it, they don’t want to be termed or seen as a “home breaker”. Some get themselves in this situation knowingly while others unknowingly. So, why do women choose or are chosen to take second place?

They allow it.

If you accept less you get less. Many who are mistresses allow themselves to be put in this position. If he can have his meat and still keep it, why should he bother to step up?

You lack the “IT” factor

Ever wonder why you are good enough to get some but not good enough to be the main in his household? You lack the “it”. Well I don’t know what ‘it” is but men have different ways of defining it. 

Benefits

Some women are there just for the benefits. Truth is most side chicks get a great benefits package than the main...  expensive gifts, bills paid, vacations, and all stolen three minutes sex sessions they could dream off. 

She doesn’t want to invest in a relationship

 Love is cruel and disappointing hence some women figure out not being the only woman is safe for their heart. She doesn’t have to go the extra mile of having to deal with him cheating and not being there always.

She loves the thrill

Sleeping with another woman’s man is a risk. She enjoys doing what many term as wrong. It boosts her ego to know that she has something belonging to another person hot on her heels and this makes her feel in control.

It can’t work out between them

He knows his family can’t embrace her as his wife for reasons known to both parties. Therefore he marries a wife that the mother can appreciate and keeps her as a mistress.

Low self esteem

Some men will take advantage of a woman once they notice she has a low self esteem. He will lead her into believing she can’t do better than him and therefore she will get comfortable and appreciate the leftover scraps she is getting.

You think he will drop his wife for you

Somewhere within a mistress's mind is a fantasy that he will leave her and they can have a happy ending. He will tell you what you want to hear in order to keep you happy. Is he still having sex with her? YES is he going to break up with her? NO.

In very rare cases, he will actually leave her for you but if he cheated on her, what makes you think he won’t cheat on you?
